Lock Tab is a browser extension that helps you keep a selected browser tab on a chosen domain or exact URL. This policy describes the ad-free Chrome Web Store edition.
Lock Tab reads tab URLs, hostnames, tab identifiers, navigation events, and page titles to suggest a domain, apply a lock, restore the last allowed page, and show a lock marker. Page titles are read and modified locally to add or remove the lock prefix. The extension does not read page bodies, form fields, or cookies for its functionality. URLs and titles may themselves contain personal information.
For each locked tab, the extension keeps the selected domain, the starting URL, the last allowed URL, the tab identifier, and the lock mode in browser session storage. It also installs session network rules containing the tab identifier and allowed domain or URL. The preferred lock mode is saved in local browser storage.
This information is used only to provide and maintain tab locking, reset, unlock, and the related visual indicators. Lock Tab does not transmit this information to the developer or to analytics, advertising, or other third-party services. It does not sell browsing data or use it for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or lending.
The extension has no analytics SDK, advertising, affiliate links, account system, or developer-operated backend. Its executable code is packaged with the extension.
Normal browsing and restoring a page cause your browser to request that page from its website. Those websites handle the requests under their own privacy policies. Network rules block covered disallowed page requests; some navigation is instead reversed by returning the tab to an allowed page. This extension is not a guarantee that all requests to a destination will be prevented.
Locks and their network rules are removed when you unlock or close a tab and are cleared when the browser session ends. Extension reloads, disabling, or updates may also clear session data. The preferred lock mode remains in local browser storage until changed or the extension is uninstalled. The extension does not use Chrome Sync storage. No copy of the lock records is retained by the developer.
Tab and navigation permissions support URL checks and visual status. Storage saves local settings and session locks. Context-menu permission adds locking commands. Scripting and website access allow the page-title marker. Declarative network-request permission and website access enable rules for top-level requests in locked tabs. These permissions are used to provide the tab-locking feature.
